Aquarius II is a tidy example of the renowned Oceanis 473 Clipper, presenting a wonderful opportunity to explore the beautiful New Zealand coastline and abroad in safety and comfort. The magnificent deck plan speaks volumes of this cruiser; wide side decks, panoramic windscreen blended into the elegant curve of the coachroof.

The previous owners spent 7 years sailing her throughout the Mediterranean before she was shipped down to New Zealand where the now current owners purchased her in 2022. Aquarius is a 2 bathroom, 4 cabin layout with the forward 2 cabins currently converted into an enormous double (of which this can be reinstated to two separate cabins). Light and space are the two key words that spring to mind in the interior, with ample storage and a warm comfy feel to the saloon and galley.

The requirements for the Oceanis Clipper 473 layout are functionality, design, and overall, to make life easy. Aquarius is no exception to this with her twin steering stations allowing perfect ease of movement and optimum visibility for the helmsman. With a new Norths mainsail purchased in 2018, the in-mast furling system allows this vessel to be sailed shorthanded with ease. When the breeze is light and you have places to be, the 100 horsepower Yanmar will power you along nicely.

The 473 has proven to be an extremely popular vessel in New Zealand and New Zealand with good performance characteristics, a large galley and fridge/freezer space that suits the way we cruise for extended periods in the remote southern hemisphere.
