Via 42

Kawaine 2 is a Via 42 aluminium centreboard yacht designed for ocean exploration with the ability to navigate shallow harbours and explore coastal waterways.

This boat features a classic 3-cabin layout, with a charming U-shaped galley to starboard, a navigation station to the port side, and a large saloon with a spacious centre-folding table. It boasts a deep bilge with ample storage for long-term provisions and the added benefit of a deep rocker, ensuring a comfortable sea experience. Built to an exceptionally high standard, *Kawaine 2* has been meticulously maintained inside and out, with no expense spared on mechanical and safety equipment.

Designed to be beached, it includes a bar under the boat that extends from the bow to the rudder, providing highly effective protection for the propeller and rudder.

Kawaine 2 underwent a refit in 2016 and 2018, covering hull maintenance, standing rigging, electronics upgrades, daggerboard maintenance, manufacture of a bimini, lazy bag, and installation of solar panels and a wind generator.

The most recent journey of Kawaine 2 took her sailing in the Mediterranean from 2017 to 2019, followed by a journey to the West Indies, Panama, and navigation in the Pacific, landing in New Zealand.
