One of Hanse's most popular and enduring models - the 400E (E=epoxy hull laminate) series deliver great sailing performance thanks to their generous sail plan and strong, stiff and medium displacement hulls. This 2007 version Hanse 400E is a rewarding & responsive sailboat that is easily sailed and managed by just one or two people.
Well kept by just two owners since being launched, ZETA is from the drawing board of the famous Judel/Vrolik design studio and manufactured to exacting standards in Germany.
Above deck, ZETA has a walk-through transom with large cockpit lockers both sides and a single helm pedestal, well protected by a canvas dodger and bimini. The cockpit sole and seating is finished in natural teak, the side decks and coach roof in non-skid GRP. The Hanse 'easy-sailing systems' are in play here with the sail plan is made up of a slab reefing mainsail (with 2x single line reefs) and self-tacking jib rigged on manual furler. All sail controls, including the mainsail reefs are led aft to the safety of the cockpit, this yacht is easily sailed single, or short-handed. Genoa tracks are also fitted to enable a larger 135% genoa if that is your preferred headsail choice.
There are 2x winches on the coach roof, one of which is electric and makes short work of the halyard and furling lines!. 2x further manual winches are mounted on the cockpit coaming. The deck gear, canvas, sails and gel coat are all in good condition.
Below decks, ZETA features a traditional layout with an L-shaped galley, chart table and seating both sides of the saloon. She has 2-cabins with the master up in the bow that enjoys great headroom, storage and a generous V-berth. The 2nd cabin is on the portside aft, again with good storage and a huge double berth.
Just aft of the galley is the storage room which provides a massive amount of space - perfect for housing all the gear needed for extended cruising. The head compartment is also generously sized with great separate shower compartment - impressive on a yacht this size.
ZETA's interior is bright with ample natural light and well-ventilated with large overhead hatches The interior joinery, upholstery and soft furnishings are all in good, clean condition.
A very popular design coming to market just in time for the NZ summer...
ZETA is lying in Auckland - contact Windcraft, official agent for Hanse yachts for more information or to arrange a viewing.
