Gary Mull Chico 30
Chico 30, Gary Mull design built by Keith Eade, lauched 1980. The Chico is well repected with over 70 boats built. Originally designed to race offshore these boats have completed many offshore miles and circumnavigated. GRP hulls, timber top and cockpit with solid teak coamings. With a 50 % ballast ratio they are a stiff vessel and easily driven with a powerful stern hung rudder and bulletproof rig.
Moanaroa is arguably the beat set up Chico 30 in NZ. Major refit in 2021 culminating in a voyage around NZ's North Island and a Pacific cruise to Fiji, Vanuatu, New Cal and return.
Moanaroa is fully optioned for extended cruising and ready to sail. The Far North is a sailors paradise with stunning cruising grounds but also the best jump off spot for heading north to the tropics with hundreds of yachts departing in May. Join the rally or go it alone but enjoy the community of sailors either way. Great facilities abound with marine services and marinas near by.

Remarks
Moanaroa got a big birthday in 2021 and presents in excellent condition. She is turnkey and very capable. For a 30 footer she sails beautifully covering 140 miles a day without trying too hard. The windvane takes all the tedium out of making miles and when it blows from the right direction she will keep pace with many 40 footers. Asides this she is a boat that doesn't creak and groan and when it's nasty out there you'll feel safe.
Antifouled and Propspeed applied May this year. Mooring available very close to Marina for rent.
